| As you begin your search for an internship there are many things to consider. Keep in mind an internship is meant to be a meaningful experience related to your field of interest. Some experiences that are just as valuable (and look just as good on the resume) are also called: externship, experiential learning opportunity, study abroad, summer job, job shadowing, part-time job, co-op, volunteer opportunity, etc. Identify skills needed for your career goals and check to see if you are developing these in your experiences during college. | | Another area of consideration is whether you will receive academic credit for your intership or experience. Some departments list their requirements on-line. Others you may need to check with your academic advisor. If your major does not require an internship but you would like to receive academic credit you can explore the option of enrolling in A&S 3710. |
